How it works​

Our co-op operates on a membership-based system, providing you with the option to choose from weekly, fortnightly, or monthly subscriptions. As a member, you'll enjoy the convenience of receiving a curated biodynamic organic vegetable box, customised to match the current season, all delivered according to your preferred frequency. You also have the choice between a medium or large box to suit your preferences.​

  • The Medium box is designed for 2-3 people and will have up to 8 items in it.

  • The Large box is designed for 3-4 people and will have up to 10 items and greater quantities.

  • The boxes are seasonal, they will be filled with what is available from the fields and won't be the same each week.

  • Other items added (eggs, dairy, meat etc) can be ordered online the week of your scheduled delivery and paid for on collection.​

  • To pause a delivery, a full week's notice is needed.

  • At the moment we are offering St Michaels Co-op during term time only. Dependant on demand, some deliveries across holidays can be arranged.

  • Please be mindful of the impact of The Hunger Gap on the variety of vegetables in our boxes. The "Hunger Gap" occurs during a specific period in the agricultural calendar, typically from March to May, when locally grown produce becomes scarce. During this time, there's a shortage of fresh fruits and vegetables in the local market because previous crops have been depleted, and new ones aren't yet ready for harvest. While the UK heavily relies on food imports during this period, our dedicated local farmers continue to work hard to nurture their crops, allowing us to support local agriculture. Co-ops play a vital role in assisting farmers during the Hunger Gap by providing them with financial stability through regular income, facilitating resource-sharing, and offering direct market access. This support is essential for helping farmers overcome the challenges posed by limited fresh produce availability during these critical times.

 

The co-op has a WhatsApp group intended to foster a sense of community among its members. This group will serve as a platform for sharing general information, addressing questions that apply to the entire group, and exchanging recipes and tips, among other things.

Deadline

All orders, Veg Box subscriptions or extras, need to be completed online by 5pm Monday for delivery that same week

Payment

Veg Box Membership:

  • reoccurring payment set up online (set up membership here)

  • any changes must be made at least one week in advance (please contact Amelia directly)

Extras:

To purchase add-on items such as bread, eggs, dairy, or meat, please visit our shop and place your order during the week before your scheduled box delivery. Payment can be made upon collection preferably by card.

Charges

There is a delivery charge of £5 on every order. This covers not only energy costs but also maintenance .
